upcoming projects

we’ve partnered with 10 pioneers to showcase our building solution in 2025.

In spring of 2025, we’re going to be installing 15+ units on 10 Pioneer properties across North America. Use cases include:

  • An off-grid resort in PEI

  • 4-unit cottage in Costa Rica

  • Housing for a new city in Texas

Below are some of our earliest Pioneers:

Pioneer highlights

  • reuben

Reuben is a licensed architect and residential developer based out of Price Edward Island. To increase his annual passive income, he’s developing an off-grid resort consisting of 4 of our units.

Three of our units will serve as bunkies, each equipped with a bed, dresser and desk. The fourth unit will act as the shared “heart” of the resort, with a kitchen, bathrooms an dining table.

All 4 units will share a covered deck, extending the living space of the resort.

“I wouldn’t be able to build on this lot if it not for Tinybox’s off-grid technology. I’m excited to continue to work closely with Charlie, Oliver, and Pooya and see this project come to life.”

    ~Reuben

This property would not have been able to be developed if not for our off-grid systems. Due to lot size constraints and the property’s proximity to wetlands, grid infrastructure and septic systems are not possible.

On top of serving as communal space, the heart will also host the batteries and solar panels that will power the resort. To manage wastewater, we will be implementing our bioreactor system.

  • mika

Mika travels frequently and likes to visit her daughter for weeks at a time. So that she has her own space, we’ll be developing her a backyard suite on her daughters property in Toronto.

As this is not a full time dwelling, our balance between keeping the footprint small while ensuring all basic functionalities are met is appealing to Mika. This is made possible through our transforming furniture, allowing the 160sq ft. of space to be transformed into a bedroom, office, or living space.

“I am very excited to begin the journey. My experience with Charlie has been great, he is very accommodating and knowledgable, which makes me feel at ease. I feel honoured to be part of the pioneer campaign and look forward to a successful project!”

    ~Mika

With limited access to the backyard and large trees blocking potential cranes, Mika wouldn’t be able to build with traditional prefab. We ship our units flat-pack to site, then assemble them in under 2 weeks, allowing us to build in any location.

  • Joseph

Joseph has recently purchased a small home nestled in the coastal mountains of Washington. For Joe to have a dedicated office space and give guests a place to stay, we’ll be building him a backyard cabin to compliment his existing one.

The cold temperatures of Washington’s winters requires its buildings to be well insulated. That’s why we’re equipping Joseph’s with our vacuum-insulated panels, achieving an R60 enclosure with walls 5” thick.

“I have a mountain cabin I work remotely from intermittently.  With the cold winters and hot summers, TinyBox is the only affordable option to separate my live and work spaces without falling victim to the elements.  Due to the flexible & compressing furniture,it will also be a workout room and a bedroom for guests at different times of the day!”

    ~Joseph

We’ll be documenting the entire build in this mountainous region. Subscribe to our social media channels to follow along.
