Frequently asked questions

  • After a free quote and design consultation, we ask for a 5% deposit to lock your spot in our schedule.

From there, an additional 45% is required to begin production, 25% when your kit arrives on site, and the final 25% upon completion.

  • We’re currently booking for Spring of 2026.

  • We use the foundation that makes the most sense for your specific project. Typically that’s either concrete slab, concrete piers, or helical piles.

  • In the discovery call, we’ll determine your most cost effective solution.

In cases where utilities are nearby, connecting to the grid is typically the most economical option.

In cases where there are no nearby utilities, our off-grid technology is more economical than running new utilities to your land.

  • The cost of shipping will be finalized in your first call based on your location.

  • Customers get a 1 year warranty on any performance failure of your unit, giving you the confidence to withstand all four seasons moving forward.

  • Our modular design allows us to merge and expand our units to create larger, seamlessly connected spaces, whether side-by-side or vertically.

  • Shipping containers may seem like a quick housing solution but they are not designed for comfortable, long-term living.

Their steel walls transfer heat and cold easily, making insulation and energy efficiency a challenge. They also require significant cutting, welding, and reinforcement to add windows, doors, and utilities, which can be costly and time-consuming.

Tinybox is purpose-built for living from day one with high-performance insulation, modular adaptability, and sustainable systems.

We can build anywhere without the need for cranes, giving you true flexibility in where your home can go.

  • Tinybox units typically need only a few or no permits depending on your situation.

We provide all engineering drawings required, and hire permitting consultants when needed to ensure your unit is built as quickly as possible.
